Our take

Antwerp often sits in the shadow of Bruges and Ghent, but we think it deserves just as much attention. It feels livelier, more contemporary and less tourist-focused, while still offering beautiful architecture, excellent museums and some of Belgium’s best food and shopping. If you enjoy cities with character rather than postcard perfection, Antwerp is a fantastic choice.
